Na daya;
Banu Abbas sun fahimta da kyau cewa ba su da wani matsayi ko karɓuwa a cikin jama’a idan aka kwatanta su da Banu Husain kamar Imam Ja’afar al-Sadiq (A.S) ko kuma Banu Hasan kamar Abdallah al-Mahdh da Muhammad al-Nafs al-Zakiyya. Saboda haka, sun san cewa idan suka ce za suyi kiyam da kansu to ba za su samu goyon bayan jama’a ba. Don haka suka shigo da munafunci, suka ɓoye kansu a bayan Banu Hasan, suka haifar da fitinar Mahdiyya, suka gabatar da Muhammad al-Nafs al-Zakiyya a matsayin Mahdin da ake jira mai ceto don su jawo hankalin Shi’a da Sunni a kansa.
Saboda haka ne Abu al-Faraj al-Isfahani ya ruwaito daga Umair ibn Fadl al-Khath’ami cewa:
“Wata rana na ga Abu Ja’afar al-Mansur yana jiran futowar wani mutum wanda daga baya na fahimta cewa Muhammad ibn Abdallah ibn Hasan ne. Da ya fito daga gida, Abu Ja’afar ya tashi tsaye, ya kama rigarsa har sai da ya hau doki, sannan ya gyara masa tufafinsa a kan doki. Na san Abu Ja’afar amma ban san wannan mutumin ba. Sai na tambaye shi: Wanene wannan da ka girmama haka, ka kama masa doki da kuma gyara masa tufafi? Sai ya ce: Shin ba ka san shi ba? Wannan shi ne Muhammad ibn Abdallah ibn Hasan ibn Hasan – Mahdinmu na Ahlul Bayt.”

Na biyu:
Shaykh Mufid ya bayyana irin rawar da Banu Abbas – musamman Mansur Dawaniqi – suka taka a cikin ƙirƙirar Mahdiyyancin Muhammad al-Nafs al-Zakiyya, kamar yadda Isa ibn Abdallah ya ruwaito yadda wasu daga cikin Banu Hashim suka yi mubaya’a ga Muhammad ibn Abdallah:
“Wasu daga cikin Banu Hashim – ciki har da Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Abdallah ibn Abbas, Salih ibn Ali, Abu Ja’afar al-Mansur, Abdallah ibn Hasan, ‘ya’yansa Muhammad da Ibrahim, da Muhammad ibn Abdallah ibn Amr ibn Uthman – sun taru a garin Abwa’. Salih ya ce: Kun sani cewa idanun mutane suna kan ku. Allah ya so a yau ku hadu a nan. Ku zabi ɗaya daga cikinku, ku yi masa mubaya’a kuma ku tsaya masa har Allah ya kawo mafita. Bayan Sai Abdallah ibn Hasan ya ce bayan ya gode wa Allah: Kun sani cewa ɗana Muhammad shine Mahdi. Ku yi masa mubaya’a.
Abu Ja’afar Mansur ya ce: Me ya sa kuke yaudarar kanku? Kun sani cewa Mutane ba za su duba wani kamar wannan matashin ba. Ba za su amsa kiran wani kamar yadda za su amsa nasa ba.
Sai dukkanin mutanen da suka hallarci wajan suka ce: Ka faɗi gaskiya, mun sani. Sai suka yi mubaya’a da Muhammad.”

Na uku:
Banu Abbas sun fahimci cewa idan suka fito da hujjar kasancewarsu ‘ya’yan Abbas, ɗan’uwan Manzon Allah (SAW), ba za su samu karɓuwa daga jama’a ba. Saboda haka, suka ɗauki taken “al-Ridā min Āl Muḥammad” (wanda ake so daga cikin Ahlul Bayt) a matsayin taken gwagwarmayarsu, kuma suka yi iƙirarin cewa suna son dawo da halifanci zuwa gidan Manzon Allah (SAW). Wannan ya sa suka iya samun goyon bayan jama’a har suka kawo karshen mulkin Banu Marwan.
A wata ruwayar kuma, an ruwato cewa: “Sun zabi launin baki a matsayin launin tutarsu da tufafinsu, saboda kalar tutar Manzon Allah ma baki ce ko kuma don nuna jimami ga musibun da suka samu gidan Manzon Allah.”

Na hudu:
Saboda su yaudari mutane, sun yi iƙirari cewa suna da wani littafi da ke dauke da alamu cikin haruffa masu ɓoyayyen ma’ana game da zuwan mulkinsu.
A cewar wannan littafi: “‘Ayn (ع) zai kashe ‘Mīm (م), kuma ‘Ayn na farko shi ne Abdallah ibn Ali ibn Abdallah ibn Abbas – wanda ya zama ginshiƙin mulkin Abbasiyya – sannan ‘Mīm’ biyu suna nufin Marwan ibn Muhammad ibn Marwan wanda Abdallah ibn Abbas zai kashe, kuma daga nan ne mulkin Abbasiyya zai fara.”
